Vampire Fest is thrilled to offer a conversation with Jeannie Barresi, Managing Director of Fan Trips Travel.
Vampire Fest: Celebrity Vampire Baseball, part of TWILIGHT fan trips, is coming March 20, 2010, in New Orleans, LA. What can attendees expect to see and do at this event?
Jeannie Barresi: Each Celebrity Vampire Baseball event is unique and fans can expect many New Orleans-flavored touches, in addition to the nine-inning exhibition game with stars, autograph and photograph sessions with the stars, opportunities to meet the stars in small groups called “Cozy Coffees”, a party and concert after the game, and a variety of merchandise to purchase from many vendors. Fans can meet up with their online groups, a Podcast will be held at the event, and much more.
VF: Which TWILIGHT star(s) and other celebrities will be playing baseball at this year's game?
JB: Celebrities will be confirming throughout the coming months. At this time, Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen from TWILIGHT), Thomas Hyde III (from CIRQUE DU FREAK and JONAS HEX), and Wayne Douglas Morgan (from CIRQUE DU FREAK and many others) will be participating. Of course, the final list will depend on filming schedules. For our first event, thirteen stars from TWILIGHT participated in the Celebrity Vampire Baseball game.
VF: Please tell us about the non-profit organizations you're working with.
JB: Up to 50% of net proceeds will be going to local non-profits, including the American Red Cross blood drives, the 9th Ward Field of Dreams, and other organizations.
VF: What other TWILIGHT fan trips are lined up for the future?
JB: At the moment we have another Celebrity Vampire Baseball event scheduled for May 22, 2010, in Salt Lake City, where Twilight Saga celebrities will be playing Olympic athletes. It will be fun to see who can really run the fastest!
